North Gwent Cardiac Rehabilitation and Aftercare Charity

The North Gwent Cardiac Rehabilitation and Aftercare Charity (NGCRAC) was founded over 25 years ago by Dr. Jacky Miles (MBE), lead nurse for heart failure and cardiac rehabilitation research.

The mission is to provide support, education and rehabilitation to those within the local Monmouthshire and Blaenau Gwent communities who have suffered with their heart health. Charity supported community exercise classes provide ongoing support and encouragement to restore and rebuild health and well-being.

Watch, Wait and Wonder

Watch, Wait and Wonder is a therapeutic approach which looks at the concerns you have relating to your child through play. This takes place in a comfortable room and allows us to explore and understand the difficulties from both your and your child's perspective.
At the first clinic visit, there will be an assessment to decide if Watch, Wait and Wonder is suitable for you and your child.
The sessions will take place at the same time each week and up to a maximum of ten sessions will be offered.
What happens in the sessions?

The Eat Well Plate

Download the Eat Well plate below to help you get the balance right.
The eatwell plate shows how much of what you eat should come from each food group.  This includes everything you eat during the day including snacks.
So try to eat: Plenty of fruit and vegetables
Plenty of bread, rice, potatoes, pasta and other starchy food - choose wholegrain varieties when you can
Some milk and dairy foods
Some meat, fish, eggs, beans and other non-dairy sources of protein
Just a small amount of foods and drinks high in fat and/or sugar
