The Old Station,Tintern is located off the A466, the main Wye Valley road, north of Tintern Village - NP16 7NX
It's open 7 days a week from 10:30am - 5:30pm from approximately Easter time to the end of October.
Built as a Victorian country railway station, the Old Station, Tintern is a charming site to visit for a quiet relaxing day out or to start your walk in the beautiful Wye Valley. The site features a riverside walk and meadows, children's play area, picnic site with barbeques, tearoom, souvenir shop, tourist information and a secluded basic camp site. The signal box houses changing exhibitions from local artists and crafts people.
Essentially, the Old Station and the meadows alongside are "barrier free". There is an accessible toilet as well as baby changing facilities in both male and female toilets. Please note that access to the Signal Box does require use of a steep flight of steps.
Ramp access is provided to the railway carriages.
The Old Station has a varied programme of activities and events for the whole family including a miniature railway operated by the Wye Valley Railway Society.
