Child contact centres and services are neutral places where children of separated families can enjoy contact with their non-resident parents and sometimes other family members, in a comfortable and safe environment. Over four thousand volunteers and staff work in these centres and over seventeen thousand children use them each year.
Child contact services are classified into two distinct categories, supported and supervised, so that families can be referred to an appropriate environment and level of support.
Monmouthshire's current child contact centre is based in Abergavenny - it is open fortnightly on the second and fourth saturday of the month.
Child contact centres and details can be found on the National Association of Child Contact Centres (NACCC) website
