Supporting People Programme

Monmouthshire County Council's Supporting People Programme provides housing-related support to help vulnerable people live as independently as possible. This could be in people's own homes or in hostels, sheltered housing, or other specialist supported housing.

There are many reasons why it can sometimes be difficult to find accommodation, or why it can be difficult to keep the accommodation you are already in. You may need support because you have a disability, you could be homeless or have a drug problem.

Solas Cymru

Solas provide housing and support for homeless young people, adults and families. Solas give people a safe place to live and support them to get their lives back on track.
They provide accommodation for homeless people and families in Chepstow and Abergavenny.
Services include:
Accommodation Based Services
Floating Support Services
Specialist Young People's Services
Family Support, through the Family Intervention Project and Women's Reunite Service.

Monmouthshire Housing Support Service

Housing Support is a service for people who are having difficulties in keeping or finding a home. It is also for people who are homeless or threatened with homelessness. This can be for a variety of different reasons including:
Mental health
Debt or budgeting
Suffering Domestic Abuse
Drug or Alcohol issues
Families with housing related support needs.

Monmouthshire Housing Association Community Investment Team

The Monmouthshire Housing Association (MHA) Community Investment Team are made up of:
Community Investment Coordinator  - Natasha Jones
Project Officer - Shane Hatherall
Community Investment Apprentice - Emily Townsend.
The main focus is on improving health and wellbeing amongst MHA tenants.  This is done in a number of ways, by running specific projects but also by arranging events and activities.

Monmouthshire County Council Housing Options

If you are homeless or have been asked to leave where you are living, the Council have a legal duty to give you advice and assistance.
It is extremely important that you contact Monmouthshire County Council (MCC) Housing Options Team as soon as you are threatened with homelessness. The homelessness service is an emergency service. Before presenting yourself to MCC as homeless please look at other options and advice.
