South East Wales Adoption Service

Could you adopt a child?
The South East Wales Adoption Service is an adoption agency made up from Blaenau Gwent, Monmouthshire and Torfaen local authorities and provides adoption services across and beyond the three boroughs.  Based at 7 Bridge Street, Ebbw Wales, Blaenau Gwent, NP23 6EY.
They are currently recruiting new adopters for children who are currently waiting for new homes and loving families.
The minimum age to adopt a child is 21 but there is no upper age limit. You don't have to be married, be employed or own your home to adopt.

Fostering in Monmouthshire

If you live in Monmouthshire and are interested in becoming a foster carer, Monmouthshire's Children's Placement Team will be able to help you. 
They can send you more information or visit you at home to discuss becoming a foster carer in more detail. The Children's Placement Team will be able to answer all of your queries and complete some initial checks which will include a Criminal Records Bureau check and medical questionnaire. The aim is to complete assessments within 6 months from the date of your initial enquiry to approval at fostering panel.
